Dj Smudge, born as Lucas James Brown on the outskirt
swamplands of an island just west of Papa New Guinea,
where he lived in extreme hardship that would later be
hauntingly present in his music. Working on the seas
and rivers of Central Asia and South America in
merchant ships, Smudge made his way to the states. As
a product of the 80's and a passionate fan of music
from all genres, Smudge started collecting records in
his early teens. He was later spotted living and
spinning in the Maryland and Washington DC area. It's
been over a decade since Smudge first blessed the
decks for a crowd at an ESA event in Baltimore MD.
Known well in the underground scene and building a
reputation for often spinning everything under the
sun... From old school Hip-hop to banging House music,
from Swing to Soul, from Baile Funk to Rock, including
gems from the 70's and 80's, Baltimore Club, Electro,
and more. Influenced by some of the greats, Dj Smudge
thanks Stacey Kidd, Larry Levan, Mr. Scruff, Sam "the
man" Burns and Fantastic Plastic Machine to name a
few. Dj Smudge has taken his music far past those
early days of mosquito bites and crocodile wrestling
in the swamplands. Recent visits to NYC, London, San
Francisco, B-More, Chicago, San Diego and LA, as well
as multiple trips to hot spots in Japan have all
further secured Smudge a properly positioned place in
the underground Dj circuit as a "jack of all trades"
type Dj and more recently a Producer to watch out for.
His production group NiteCourt has made the rounds on
all the top blogs and his tunes are played by the
likes of Tittsworth, Krames, Peoples Champion, Cocaine
Kids, and Lovely Chords to name a few. He currently
holds a Friday night residence at the fabulously
futuristic Japone in Dupont Circle, Washington DC with
fellow vets, Nick AP, Classic Ice and Joel Isuzu. His
long awaited and much anticipated release is coming
out soon.

If you have spent any amount of time in San Diego, you probably have found yourself shaking your ass on a Saturday night at BOOTY BASSMENT.

This sinister looking, yet harmless, humorous and ass shaking presence has formed quite the following in this city where there is a decreasing number of "djs" that can produce, let alone actually mix. Don't get me wrong... there are great djs in SD, but there seems to be a growing numbers of bad "mash-up" djs.

Dimitri Dickinson (aka Goatwase The Black) is 1/3 of Booty Bassment DJs along with Ikah Love (aka He Look Like Prince) and Ryan Poulsen (aka Babywase).

He has raised the ante by placing some of his tunes on the bass booming altar as an offering to you and the Basstanic spirits that be.
